Merger of Mad Anthonys Children’s Hope House and Northeast Indiana Burn Council to be celebrated at Wednesday ribbon-cutting
FORT WAYNE, Indiana (Aug. 28, 2017) – Mad Anthonys Children’s Hope House announced today a ribbon-cutting to celebrate its recent merger with the Northeast Indiana Burn Council and completion of a renovation of the existing Burn Family Suites. The event will take place Wednesday, Aug. 30, at 10 a.m., in the attached medical office building on the St. Joseph Hospital campus, 800 Broadway, Suite 301.
The Northeast Indiana Burn Council has provided support services such as wound care supplies, food vouchers and gas gift cards to those impacted by burn related medical emergencies for over 15 years. Since 2010, it has also provided hospitality services to displaced families during their loved ones’ inpatient hospitalization at the St. Joseph Regional Burn Center.
The merger between Mad Anthonys Children’s Hope House and the Northeast Indiana Burn Council serves as a means to ensure the long-term viability of the Burn Family Suites and acts as an extension of the hospitality services MACHH has provided at its Lutheran Hospital campus location since 2003.
“This opportunity allows us to continue our mission and expand our reach in an effort to serve more families in need of respite during medical emergencies,” commented Andrew Gritzmaker, executive director of Mad Anthonys Children’s Hope House.
The merger was made possible through a grant from the Foellinger Foundation and was finalized in May. MACHH renovated the Burn Family Suites in partnership with many local individuals and businesses including Wolf Corp., Matilda Jane, Triple C Construction, Jack Laurie Group, Certapro, St. Joseph Hospital and the Mad Anthonys Children’s Foundation.
Mad Anthonys Children’s Hope House is a non-profit hospitality house that provides shelter, meals, laundry facilities and a peaceful refuge for families with children who are critically ill or injured.
