‘Grieving Before You Lose a Loved One’

First of a four-part series for families dealing with death and dying set for March 22

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Feb. 26, 2018) – Watching a loved one live with a terminal illness and knowing death is near is always difficult. It’s hard enough to go through a “normal” day while also processing the emotions of knowing your loved one is dying. To offer insight and support, Lutheran Health Network Bereavement Services and Visiting Nurse’s Peggy F. Murphy Community Grief Center are hosting a four-part series to help families cope with the stress, strain and sadness surrounding death and dying.

The first session, “Grieving Before You Lose a Loved One,” will take place March 22, 2018, from 6-7:30 p.m. at the Kachmann Mind Body Studio in Lutheran Hospital’s south lobby. Anyone attending this free presentation is encouraged to park in the south parking garage and enter through door 1L. The series is open to the public. Call 435-7704 for more information.

During each session, bereavement professionals will address the struggles family members experience when a loved one is dying and once he or she passes away. Upcoming sessions include:

• “Unexpected Grief” – June 21
• “What to Do After Your Loved One Dies” – Sept. 13
• “Surviving the Holidays and the Future” – Nov. 29
