Lutheran Children’s Hospital to announce a 16,000-square-foot renovation
Ceremonial start of site demolition
What: Representatives of Lutheran Children’s Hospital, Lutheran Hospital and affiliated board members will gather tomorrow to celebrate the ceremonial start of construction on a 16,000-square-foot renovation.
When: 1 p.m., Thursday, May 7, 2015
Where: 3rd floor, Lutheran Children’s Hospital, 7950 W. Jefferson Blvd.
Why: Even before Lutheran Children’s Hospital opened in 1999, Lutheran was already establishing a strong reputation regionwide for providing families easy access to specialized pediatric care delivered closer to home. Building upon Lutheran’s longstanding belief that children are special people, not just small adults, hospital officials and members of the medical staff have committed to a major renovation to better meet the needs of patients.
How: After brief remarks from Lutheran Hospital CEO Brian Bauer and LCH Executive Director Krista Peak, several Lutheran Children’s Hospital patients will don hardhats to knock down a faux brick wall with little front-end loader tractors. The gathering will signal the ceremonial start of remodeling.
• Additional information, project renderings, a floor plan and interview opportunities with LCH representatives will be available at the event. Members of the media are asked to gather in the main lobby of Lutheran Hospital where they will be greeted by a member of the community relations department and escorted to the ceremony.
