Fan-based Star Wars charity to donate landspeeder to Lutheran Children’s Hospital
FORT WAYNE, Ind. (June 8, 2018) – Known mostly for spot-on costumes depicting famous and infamous figures from a galaxy far, far away, members of the local garrison of the 501st Legion will swing by Lutheran Children’s Hospital this weekend to show off their lighter side of the Force.
Northern Darkness Garrison of the 501st Legion, a Star Wars costuming club, is donating a version of Luke Skywalker’s landspeeder to help LCH team members transport younger patients throughout the units in a way that’s more enjoyable. Several members of the garrison, some in full costume, are scheduled to arrive in the south lobby Saturday at 10 a.m. for the delivery and a brief photo op.
