School of Nursing Class of ’59 to celebrate 60th reunion with a visit to Lutheran Hospital
Who: Twenty-five graduates of the Lutheran Hospital School of Nursing Class of 1959, LHSN graduates still working at Lutheran, representatives of Lutheran’s Nursing Leadership Group and other hospital representatives
What: All assembled will share stories, tour the facility and conclude their visit with a celebration lunch.
When: Friday, beginning at 10 a.m.
Where: After arriving on the Lutheran Hospital campus, 7950 W. Jefferson Blvd., all participants will gather outside the ER near helipad #1 and the ambulance bay for the first stop on their tour.
Why: The Class of ’59 wanted to observe this major milestone together in a location that illustrates no matter how much the technologies have changed over the past 60 years, the compassionate care healthcare professionals share with their patients remains the same.
How: After getting to see a Lutheran Air helicopter and a Lutheran Ground ambulance up close, the class will split up into smaller groups to visit different areas of the hospital. Members of Lutheran’s NLG will be assisting as tour guides. Time permitting, the class will be visiting the radiology department, a simulation lab and the Lutheran Cancer Resource Center – in addition to getting the chance to chat with a current intensive care nurse about medical advancements.
