Lutheran Health Physicians welcomes 7 new providers

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Sept. 27, 2019) – Seven new providers specializing in the areas of kidney transplantation, electrophysiology, neurointerventional surgery, advanced heart failure, family medicine and neonatology are the most recent additions to the Lutheran Health Physicians team. David Cronin, MD, PhD, MHCM, FACS, FACHE, is a member of the Lutheran Health Physicians surgery team specializing in kidney transplantation. During his career, he has held many administrative and clinical leadership positions including medical director of specialty services, adult and pediatric transplant program medical director and primary surgeon for pancreas, liver and live-donor liver transplantation. He has also served on the faculty at the University of Chicago, Yale University and the Medical College of Wisconsin.

J. Rod Gimbel, MD, is a member of the Lutheran Health Physicians cardiac electrophysiology team. Dr. Gimbel specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of disorders of the heart’s electrical system, which can cause the heart to beat too slow, too fast, or irregularly. Prior to joining LHP, he served as a cardiovascular specialist – electrophysiology at Columbia St. Mary’s Hospital in Milwaukee.

Amit Sanghvi, MD, Neurointerventional Surgery

Amit Sanghvi, MD, is a neurointerventional surgeon using minimally-invasive procedures to diagnose and treat a wide range of cerebrovascular disorders in the brain, neck and spine. Board certified by the American Board of Radiology, Dr. Sanghvi brings over a decade of clinical experience and training to Lutheran Health Physicians. He also serves as the co-director of Lutheran Hospital’s Comprehensive Stroke Center.

Kim Million, NP, Family Medicine

Kim Million, NP, is a family medicine nurse practitioner who provides preventive and chronic care for men, women and children of all ages. She also treats various acute illnesses. Million brings over 20 years of nursing experience to Lutheran Health Physicians, having recently served as a labor and delivery and postpartum staff nurse at Dupont Hospital.

Kelsey Richard, NP, is a member of the Lutheran Health Physicians cardiac electrophysiology team, assisting in the diagnosis and treatment of disorders of the heart’s electrical system which may cause the heart to beat irregularly. In 2019, Richard completed her master’s degree, family nurse practitioner, from the University of Saint Francis in Fort Wayne.

Gregory Ridenour, NNP-BC, is a nurse practitioner in the neonatal intensive care unit, where he provides care for premature and ill newborns. Ridenour earned his associate degree in nursing from Ivy Tech Community College - Fort Wayne before receiving a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Purdue University Northwest in Hammond. While at the University of Indianapolis, he completed his master’s degree in the neonatal nurse practitioner program. Prior to joining Lutheran Health Physicians, Ridenour worked at various Level III neonatal intensive care units around northeastern Indiana, as well as Nationwide Children’s Hospital at Grant Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio.

Joyce Vivian, NP, Advanced Heart Failure

Joyce Vivian, NP, is a board-certified nurse practitioner with LHP’s advanced heart failure team. She provides care for heart failure patients who do not respond to medical and surgical therapies, and who may be eligible for a heart transplant. Prior to becoming a nurse practitioner, Joyce worked as an RN in cardiology, and has experience in diagnostic cardiac stress testing and cardiac rhythm management device therapy. She has also been a field clinical engineer, and has participated in drug trials that help to stimulate cardiac stem cells in patients with a history of cardiac injury.
