Lutheran Hospital’s verified Level II trauma centers to host Stop the Bleed training
Informative event free to the public
What: Stop the Bleed is a national campaign that strives to educate and train potential bystanders to be equipped and empowered to assist in a bleeding emergency before professional help arrives. Lutheran Hospital’s verified Level II trauma centers will host a bleeding control class featuring a presentation to outline the process of the Stop the Bleed initiative, as well as hands-on practice that simulates potential critical bleeding incidents.
When: 3 to 5 p.m. or 7 to 9 p.m., Monday, Oct. 14
Where: Special Function Room 2 in the lower level of Lutheran Hospital, 7950 W. Jefferson Blvd., Fort Wayne
Why: The Stop the Bleed campaign was enacted to ensure that the general public has access to the proper training and tools necessary to provide critical life-saving care. Educational opportunities like this assist in preparing the TRUE first responders in the event of an incident involving life-threatening bleeding such as an active shooter situation and industrial or farming accident.
Space is limited for this event and registration is required.
